With demand for staff growing ever larger and the numbers of European migrant workers falling Option A have been proactive in looking for fresh sources of workers.   We have been actively recruiting from the EU for sometime and from August 2018 we have been present in the EU’s newest member state Croatia.

We have appointed Diana Popovic, with a long HR career behind her, as our consultant in Osijek, Croatia’s 4th largest town in the eastern region of Slavonia.  Just 2 hours on the motorway from Zagreb and only 3 hours from Budapest airport, it is also conveniently placed to access workers in Serbia when any new UK migration rules tale effect post Brexit.  We have already successfully supplied a large number of Croatian workers to food manufacturing sites in Scotland alongside mushroom harvesters into other EU countries.

To enable us to grow our supply further we have just taken possession of our new city centre office and have also just established Option A d.o.o..  This is the equivalent of a UK limited company and will compliment our branch office status to ensure that we are still able to supply the UK and Europe, even in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

We are now busy recruiting skilled fruit pickers for the upcoming season and will be shortly taking one of our large soft fruit customers to Osijek to interview for their team in country.
